Linocut toolsLinocut is a saving printmaking technique, which means that you have to remove material around the drawing to reveal the embossed pattern. Or more simply, it works like a stamp.
So you must anticipate the fact that the pattern will be printed in negative.
It is a technique that does not require many tools: mainly gouges, lino plates, paper and ink. Ideally a printing press provides a better result, but it is not essential. The preparatory work of drawing and engraving can be quite long and exhausting, with a result that may seem naive and unsophisticated, but this is just what I like.
